The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is located in the heart of the City of Folsom. Operating since 1963, the zoo sanctuary has been the home to hundreds of animals from squirrels and deer to tigers and bears.

Each year the zoo welcomes thousands of visitors in a simple and unassuming park like environment. With close to 100 animals and adjacent to Lions Park (featuring tables, BBQ’s and children’s play areas) and the Folsom Valley (mini-scale) Railway, not to mention City Hall, Dan Russell Arena, and the Folsom City Library, we know you and your family will enjoy your visit.

                                                  Fairytale Town

Since 1959, Fairytale Town has been a treasured place of laughter, memories, learning and family fun. Favorite fairytales and nursery rhymes are the backdrop for more than 25 colorful play sets in this non-profit children’s park and educational center. The park is also home to a family of 22 rare and miniature breed animals, three interactive learning gardens and two performing arts stages.



                                                  Sacramento Zoo

Open since 1927, the Sacramento Zoo is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo is wholly managed by the nonprofit Sacramento Zoological Society and inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation.

                                                                       Big M Fishery

BIG M Fishery is primarily known for its catfish ponds, however each season we open with stocking one of our many ponds with Rainbow Trout. Our Fishing Season begins the first weekend in March every year and continues through the last weekend in November. During the summer anglers of all ages can take part in fishing for our farm raised Channel catfish or try their luck fishing in our 5 acre Catch-n-Release Bass and Blue Gill pond.

There is no limit to the number of fish you can catch, and best of all a fishing license is NOT REQUIRED. Our price to fish all day is $15.00 per person. Admission fee includes access to the Fishing Park allowing angler’s to fish all day in our Catch-n-Release pond; also included in our Day Rate, fishermen are allowed up to two pounds of Catfish or two pounds of Rainbow Trout to take home at no additional charge.
